Whether it’s your first time using a condom or you’re just looking for a refresher, the guides below will help keep you stay safe and in control!
External Condoms
Check expiration date, look for any damage, & pinch (you should feel a small air bubble). If it's bad, toss it!
Remove the condom from package.
Pinch condom tip and place it over the penis head, retract foreskin if necessary.
Unroll the condom down to the base of the penis.
Apply any additional lube.
Immediately after ejaculation, hold the condom at the base and withdraw.
Dispose of the condom in the trash.
Internal Condoms
Check expiration date, look for any damage, & pinch (you should feel a small air bubble). If it's bad, toss it!
Remove the condom from package.
Pinch the sides of inner ring at the closed end of the condom.
For Anal Sex: Insert condom into rectum, remove inner ring, & leave the outer ring about one inch outside of anus. Adding more lube (water-based or silicone-based is best) can help with inserting the condom.
For Vaginal Sex: Insert condom into vagina as far as it will go up to the cervix & leave the outer ring about one inch outside of the vagina. Adding more lube (water-based or silicone-based is best) can help with inserting the condom
Apply any additional lube.
Guide partner's penis/toy into the condom & make sure the outer ring stays outside of the body
Immediately after sex, twist the outer ring to contain any semen & slowly remove the condom.
Dispose of the condom in the trash.
